Ski to Sea
*This team is making race history by being the first all African-American team to compete! Their name roots from the 1.5% of the population they represent here in Whatcom County. Ski to Sea is becoming increasingly more diversified!

Racer Profile: Vinson B. Latimore

Role: Runner

Team:  The One Point 5 Percent Age: 42

In my small home town of South Carolina, I regularly visited elderly family and church members at the local nursing home. During my visits, I listened to and learned from residents’ personal stories. From these enlightening moments, I discovered that one size community does not fit all nor does it meet the needs of all residents. I spent my summers caring for my grandparents and enjoyed hearing their stories and life lessons that help shape my life. This was the beginning into my journey into the health care field and my passion for serving seniors.
