Promoting International Teamwork through Friendly Competition

Imagine this: A Finnish XC skier handing off to a Russian snowboarder, who then hands off to a Japanese runner, who hands off to an Australian road biker, and so forth.

Meet and Greet the Athletes on May 27, 2011 at Bellis Fair from 4:00-5:30 PM

The Bellingham Sister Cities Association (BSCA), in collaboration with Whatcom Events/Ski to Sea Race, has raised over $11,500 in our efforts to bring an athlete from each of our seven sister cities to Bellingham. These athletes will field an international team to compete in this year’s race, which is a 100 year celebration of the Mt. Baker Marathon, the precursor to the World Famous Ski to Sea Race!

BSCA and Whatcom Events would like to thank everyone in our community that contributed to this exciting effort in promoting international teamwork through friendly competition. A complete list of community contributors can be viewed at: www.skitosea.com/content/about/sistercities.asp

We would especially like to thank out title sponsor, Saturna Capital Corporation for their generous matching contribution.
