The Reasons You Should Be Scared of The Alpha Dogs.1. Our training - More than half of our team uses their lunch hour to cram in a Cross Fit workout in the back parking lot. Nicknamed the Jailhouse workout, there's a lot of testosterone flying around back there. This has been going on for more than six months. Evidence? Check out the guns on Tony and Ryan.
2. Brandon's obvious mountain biking skills (see demonstration on the right).
3. Our experience - Over the years, the number of legs covered by the The Alpha Dog members is impressive. As a result, we generally know what we're up against, and there won't be many surprises.
4. Our inexperience - There's enough lack of experience that we don't really know what we've gotten ourselves into.
5. Tony is a Roller Derby referee. It is his deftness on roller skates that really make him seem at home on the water in a canoe (see Figure 2 below).
6. The best incentive for Ryan is carob cupcakes. And rest assured we will have plenty of those carob cupcakes waiting at the snowboarding finish line on race day! (see evidence of a carob cupcake sighting to the right [Ryan probably wanted us to show this picture, but he's not our real Dad.]) 
7. Brandon was an extra in the movie Nacho Libre. He has first hand knowledge of the Anaconda Squeeze, and he's not afraid to use it on road hogging competitors (see Figure 3 below).
8. Jeff takes the concept of "Carb Loading" a little too seriously. With some coaching and team support, we will keep him from over-eating the night before the race and avoid the scenario seen in Figure 4.
9. We are all really, really nice. It is reason enough to be scared.
