Ski to Sea

About The Alpha Dogs

Brandon Witman Cross Country Skiing - Brandon Witman

Brandon is looking to history this year. He's highly motivated.

Brandon is still tall. And he's a Mechanical Engineer at Alpha.

Jonathan Carpenter Downhill Skiing - Jonathan Carpenter

Jonathan has decided he was unhappy with his effort from last year and is going to "destroy" his time this year.

Jonathan has agreed to do this, and we are not entirely sure he knows what he has signed up for (hint: 98% climbing, 2% skiing...). Jonathan works in the engineering department at Alpha.
Downhill Run - Mark Glaser

Look at the intensity in those eyes...

Mark is a fifth degree black belt in Judo, practicing since 1975. Watch out suckas!

Mark has run this before and is going to crush the competition this year.

He is a senior project/design engineer in the status monitoring department and has a wife, some kids and a dog rooting for him. Run Mark Run!

Ryan Roy Cycling -  - Ryan Roy

Ryan is looking to finish all the legs of the ski to sea race and this is one of the last and hopefully his strongest. All thats left now is to boot one of our canoe chumps and get in the boat.

The team captain, Ryan has a goal to eventually compete in each of the Ski-to-Sea events. This is his sixth year, having previously completed the snowboarding, mountain bike and running legs once, and the Kayak leg twice. Ryan works as the Graphic Designer at Alpha.
Tony Munn and Don Thompson

Canoe - Tony Munn and Don Thompson

The dynamic duo are at it again this year. Lets hope the river plays nice and we can kill it there and not on the lake.

Tony and Don don't get along too well. This only makes their canoe leg time faster, as they really just want to get away from each other. Fortunately, they work on different floors at Alpha, Tony as the Senior Technical Support Engineer and Don as the Generator Technology Engineer.

Tony first participated in the canoe leg five years ago as a last minute replacement for Don. Tony went on to compete in three more canoe legs. Now Don is back, and wants his spot in the canoe.
Greg Laughlin Mountain Bike - Greg Laughlin
Greg is the man again for 2011. Training like an animal, he's ready to eat the competition

Trading one bike for another, Greg is taking on the mountain bike course this year. Remember, Greg is easily the most aggressive member of the Alpha team. Stay out of his way, or he'll take you down. This fits in well with his job as a Systems Engineer at Alpha.
Lyle Myers Kayak - Lyle Myers

Lyle was going to run this year but he's out after a foot injury from his first marathon last year. So he's paddling again. Ring that bell Lyle!

Lyle swears he can make it through the course without overturning more than twice. He's started doing the lunch time prison yard workout, so he's taking it pretty seriously. We are guessing he'll keep a six pack in his boat to "keep a lower profile in the water...". Lyle works in the marketing department at Alpha.
